Home for the Holidays

Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! After lots of turkey and Black Friday sales shopping, I've been getting into the Christmas spirit by decorating our home for the holidays. I'm not completely finished but I wanted to go ahead and share a peek at our living room space with you.

The overall theme in our home is rustic, modern farmhouse so I wanted to keep with that motif while adding touches of winter coziness. Since farmhouse style is made up of mostly neutrals, I thought it would be the perfect time to try my hand at flocking. This is the first time I've ever flocked a real tree and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! It's really rather simple to do and the result is just gorgeous! The product I used (linked below) gives that "real" snow covered look and you're easily able to control the density and effect. I purchased the 5lb box which was plenty to do our 9ft tree and garlands with some left over.

To tie everything together I used natural elements throughout. Example, these birch wood branches and candle holders. I stumbled upon these while browsing Etsy. They're made from real white birch trees and are pretty affordable compared to most faux wood pieces you find.

I'm excited because not only was I able to link almost everything pictured but practically every single item is on sale right now too! Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the piece you'd like to shop and you'll be directed to that product page. If there are any items not linked below that you're interested in, shoot me an email or let me know in the comments and I'll be happy to share where I found them! Also be sure to head back over bright and early tomorrow morning as I'll have a full list of the best Cyber Monday sales for you!

Thanksgiving Outfit #2 - Faux Fur & Leopard Booties

As promised sharing my second Thanksgiving outfit idea with you today. I wore this a couple weekends ago while celebrating my birthday in Williamsburg. Though it's made up of a lot of simple pieces, all together this look is effortlessly chic.

Let's start with this gorgeous faux fur vest. Definitely on the higher price end but worth every penny. This is actually my second Topshop faux fur purchase and the quality can not be beat! I paired it with this tie sleeve sweater that is literally one of the softest things I've ever put on. It comes in eight fall hues and I want every single one! No joke it's really like wearing a fleece blanket! I love the adjustable tie detail on the sleeves and the high/low hem. It does run a little large (wearing my usual size small) so keep that in mind if you plan to purchase. Personally I prefer the oversized fit when it comes to fall knits.

Alright last but definitely not least let's discuss these super cute booties. While leopard boots are all the rage right now, I've heard some mixed reviews from y'all so I'm giving you my honest opinion about them. I feel like they can be a little over the top or even tacky if you don't choose the right style. These Sam Edelman pair have a neutral almost white color base and a simple block heel, adding just a fun pop of pattern to the look without completely over taking it. I think it's also really important to think about the pieces you plan to pair with them. I suggest basics and more neutral tones. Following those guidelines you are sure to pull this trend off with ease. ;)

Also in case you missed it, me and nine of my blogger gals are giving away a $300 Nordstrom giftcard over on Instagram. Runs until tomorrow night and is super easy to enter. Just think if you win you could snag my look for yourself for FREE! Head to my account @whatcourtwore for all the details.

Thanksgiving Outfit - Cozy Sweater Dress

Happy Monday lovelies! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is in just a few days? It's seems hard to imagine but somehow the holidays are here. I spent my weekend gearing up for Black Friday with lots of new content coming your way. Party looks, gift guides, giveaways and tons of sales all hitting the blog and Instagram the end of this week into next. Before we get into that, several of you requested some last minute Thanksgiving outfit ideas. I've come up with a couple different looks. All of which are easy to recreate if you don't have the time to shop for something new, and all equally cute and comfy with room to hide the food baby haha. Starting with this cozy sweater dress from Chicwish. You may remember I wore this on our trip to VT last month. Even in 50 degree temps this little dress kept me so warm. It does run on the shorter side (I'm 5'7 wearing a S/M) but looks great with otk or thigh high boots. The length also makes it perfect for layering over jeans or leggings as a oversized tunic sweater. It's also currently on sale for under $50!

While it will pair well with almost any scarf, I'm pretty partial to this boucle knit plaid. It adds a mix of texture and the colors just scream fall and Thanksgiving to me. It's only $24 + free shipping!! You also have the option of two day ship or you can purchase online and pick up at your local Nords just in time for turkey day.

Floral Lace-Up Top

Blank NYC Suede Skirt // Vince Camuto OTK Boots - This Years Version

Happy Thursday loves! Have you noticed that it seems like every year Christmas time gets sooner and sooner? Everyone's already putting up their trees and talking about holiday parties and I'm over here like... Hey, fall finally made it to the coast y'all and I'm not giving that up anytime soon! Haha. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas and everything that goes along with it but I wish we could just enjoy each season as we are in it. November for me is soaking up the last of the gorgeous leaves, eating lots of turkey and celebrating my birthday! Though I'm not that happy about turning a year older, I'm really excited to head out of town this weekend for bday festivities! Thinking this super cute look would make for the perfect outfit too, don't you agree?

I love dark hued florals like this in the fall but when you add a lace up neckline and bell sleeves, completely Sold!! This top is from my favorite boutique, y'all know all to well Southern Roots TX. I truly mean it when I say I want every single thing on their site! Always really trendy but also great quality pieces! This blouse is no exception and is sure to sell out fast. I'm wearing mine with this suede Blank NYC skirt that I've been lusting over for way too long (definitely worth the investment!) but a denim skirt or jeans, paired with a cute pair of booties would work great too.

Hope y'all have a great day! Be sure to check my Instagram tonight at 9p.m est, as I've teamed up with a few of my bloggers besties to giveaway a T3 micro curling wand set and $100 Nords card!! Best of luck!

Leopard Car Coat

Brixton Fiddler Cap & here // BaubleBar Ear Crawlers - Similar here // Leopard Car Coat //

Today's look is my take on Parisian fashion. Though I may not be roaming the streets of Paris, I can't help but feel ultra chic and sophisticated in this ensemble. I combined several classics with a fun print and a pop of color. That is what French style is truly all about, timeless pieces that you can wear over and over again. So yes maybe this outfit isn't for everyday but each individual piece can be styled with just about everything in your closet.

Obviously this leopard car coat is the true statement maker in this look. I love the notch collar and slim tailored fit (wearing a US 6) and though it definitely has a more feminine dressy feel, it looks equally as cute dressed down with jeans. Sizes keep selling out and restocking so be sure to keep checking back if yours isn't currently available. I also have to mention my new Tory. All the heart eyes for this one, am I right? Y'all know her handbags are my favorite and even though I just purchased the brown McGraw tote, I couldn't say no to this beauty. The quilted leather and gold hardware make for such a striking combo! Not to mention how perfect this bag will be for the upcoming holidays! It comes in 5 color options, including a beautiful emerald green that is also great for this time of year. My skirt and this years verison of these Vince Camuto boots are also on super sale right now.

Happy shopping ladies!
